    • This study was carried out to examine the effectiveness of record keeping towards achieving organizational objective using Nestle PLC. Lagos state Nigeria as a case study. The study was specifically carried out to investigate the effectiveness of record keeping in enhancing organizational decision making, investigate the effectiveness of record keeping in facilitating operational efficiency of business organization, investigate the effectiveness of record keeping in improving organizational productivity, and examine the barriers affecting good record keeping in business organization. The survey design was adopted and the simple random sampling techniques were employed in this study.

      The population size comprise of staff of Nestle PLC. Lagos state Nigeria. In determining the sample size, the researcher conveniently selected 41 respondents and 35 were validated. Self-constructed and validated questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected and validated questionnaires were analyzed using frequency tables and mean scores. While the hypotheses were tested using Chi-square statistical tool. The result of the findings concludes that record-keeping plays a pivotal role in achieving organizational objectives. Proper record-keeping ensures that critical information is accurately documented, easily accessible, and well-organized, contributing to informed decision-making, accountability, and transparency. In organizations, maintaining comprehensive and reliable records facilitates smooth operations, enhances regulatory compliance, and improves communication across departments.

      Therefore, it is recommended that organizations should invest in regular training programs to ensure that employees are well-equipped with the necessary skills for maintaining accurate and efficient records. This will help overcome the challenge of staff not being properly trained in record-keeping practices. To mention but a few.
