4.3 Results and discussions
The results of the performance evaluation of the sprayer as shown on table 4 at spraying height of 0.5m, 0.6m and 0.7m and average speed of 3.03km/hr, 2,927km/hr and 3.169km/hr.The corresponding time spent during spraying operation were 22.7sec, 23.70sec and 22.24sec, also the field efficiency were 58%, 57.81% and 58.05% respectively.
The results obtained shows that the field efficiency increases as the spraying height is increased, and this also indicate the fact that less spraying time was observed for higher boom spray height than lower boom spray height. And also, the theoretical field capacity appeared to increase as the boom spray height is increased but the lower field efficiency observed at spray of 0.6m probably indicates that higher time of spraying operation observed could be responsible for the higher theoretical field capacity and as well as the lower field efficiency observed at the spray height of 0.6m.
