    • CHAPTER THREE
      METHODOLOGY
      This chapter explained the procedure employed in carrying out the study. The methodology was discussed under the following subheadings:. Research Design Population of the Study, Sampling and Sampling Techniques Research Instrument, Validation of  Instrument, Procedure for Data  Collection  and Data Analysis Techniques   
      Research Design
      The research design used for this work is survey research. It is used in investigating the perception of secondary students towards practical agricultural science in Ilorin west Local Government Area of Kwara State. It involves an investigation on entire population of people on item by collecting data from samples drawn from population and assuming that these samples are true representative of the entire population.
      Population of the Study
      The population for this study include all the senior secondary school students offering agricultural science in Ilorin West Local Government of Kwara State. However the target population are all SS III agricultural science students in Ilorin West LGA Secondary schools
      Sampling and Sampling Techniques
      The sample for the study consist of four public senior secondary schools in Ilorin
      West Local Government .The selected schools for the study were chosen using systematic random sampling techniques   
      Research Instrument
      Questionnaires were the instrument used to collect the information from respondents. The questions were made up a four-point Likert scale items of strongly agree, Agree Disagree and Strongly disagree. Items on the questionnaire was designed in such a way that it provide answer to research questions and hypotheses which the study tested and answer respectively.  Respondents were required to tick (  ) each item to indicate their opinion.
      Validation of Instruments
                  The validity of the instrument   was ascertain by given the questionnaire to lecturers in Science Education, Faculty of Education University of Ilorin, Kwara State, for any critiques and suggestion
      Also, to ensure the reliability of the instrument, a test-retest method was employed, where the researcher administered the questionnaire twice at two weeks interval and the result was analyzed using  Pearson product moment correlation.
      Procedure for Data Collection
      The researcher personally visited the schools where the study was carried out to solicit the official permission and assistance of the appropriate authorities before administering the questionnaire. One hundred questionnaire was personally distributed to students in the selected school with the cooperation of agricultural science teachers in each schools, eighty of the questionnaires was taken for analysis because some of the questionnaire were wrongly filled.  
      Data Analysis Techniques
      The data collected for this study was analyzed using percentage to answer the research question while chi-square analysis was used to analyzed all the hypothesis. The hypothesis were tested at 0.05 level of significance
