Hypothesis Testing
Hypothesis One
H01: There is no significant differences in the perception of male and female students toward practical agricultural science.
Using the degree of freedom of 1 at a significant level of 0.05 the calculated chi-square value = 0.002 and it corresponding critical table value is = 3.84, since the chi-square calculated is less than table value the null hypothesis was accepted.
There is no significant difference between the perception of male student and female students toward practical agricultural science.
Hypotheses Two
H02: Gender difference has no effect on students attitude toward practical agricultural science.
The test of hypothesis on Table 2 reveals that the calculated Chi- square value is 000.5 while the Table value is 3.84 at 0.5 differences and 0.05 level of significance. The calculated Chi-square value is less than the table value, the null hypothesis is accepted, this implies that there is no significant difference in the opinion score of male and female.
The implication is that student attitude towards practical agricultural science in the study area does not necessarily depend on gender as both male and female student are favorably disposed to practical agricultural science
