      RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
      3.1    Population
          This implies the total number of people or things or organizations in a specified geographical area.
          Population of the study
          This study is centralized on the significance of automatic teller machine to enhancing bank industry.
          Thus, the population of this study in banking industry in Nigeria, which includes, bank that can be found in every nooks and corners of Nigeria.
      Sample.
          Sampling is a process of selecting and choosing a small representative part of a population with the arms of generating the required data, the conclusion of which are generalized about the whole population sample of the study.
          For the purpose of this study the sample is diamond bank plc, which one of the banks in the population of banking industry.
          Therefore, the sample of diamond bank shall include the staff and customers of the diamond bank for the purpose of arriving at a reliable and dependable conclusion (s).
      3.2    Research Design
          Research design is the framework of the plan for the study, that, is it’s used as a guide in collecting and analyzing data.
          The source of data used for this research work are primary and secondary source.
      (a)    primary data: is the collection of first hand information from different respondent about a particular research.
      Under this primary data the methods or instruments used are:
      (i)    Interview method.
      (ii)    Questionnaire method
      (b)    Secondary Data: Are information which have been used by other people or organization for the purpose of the research.
      The secondary data for this study shall include published such as: text books, information on the internet, journals, managements, periodicals, diamond bank past records, statement and financial account of diamond bank plc
      3.3    DATA COLLECTION INSTRUMENT
          Research instrument are simply information aided tools to the research. The researcher makes use of them to obtain data that are relevant to a particular study at hand and the type of instrument (s) used very from one subject matter to the other, and the intended value of research findings will cover much on the type of instruments to be used.
          For the purpose of obtaining adequate relevant and reliable data in this study, the researcher made use of personal interview.
          Personal interview
          The researcher personally interviews the marketing and operation manager of diamond bank plc, in order to gather more information about the adoption of automatic teller machine in the operation.
          More so, the staffs were interviewed briefly on its (ATM) application as well as knowing and confirming the benefit they derive through the adoption of ATM to the operation of diamond bank.
