This study aimed to investigate the potential protective effects of fenugreek oil against cisplatin-induced cerebellar damage in Wistar rats. A total of 40 rats were divided into four groups: control, cisplatin-treated, fenugreek oil-treated, and cisplatin plus fenugreek oil-treated. The effects of fenugreek oil treatment were evaluated through behavioral tests and imaging analysis of the cerebellum structure. The levels of oxidative stress and inflammation markers were measured to investigate the potential protective effects of fenugreek oil against cisplatin-induced damage in the cerebellum tissue.
The results showed that fenugreek oil treatment improved cerebellar structure and function and significantly reduced oxidative stress and inflammation markers in the cerebellum tissue of the rats. Furthermore, both low and high doses of fenugreek oil were effective in mitigating the cisplatin-induced cerebellar damage to some extent. These findings suggest that fenugreek oil may have protective effects against cisplatin-induced cerebellar damage and could potentially be used as a natural supplement to alleviate the side effects of cisplatin therapy. Further studies are required to explore the potential mechanisms underlying the protective effects of fenugreek oil in greater detail.
