    • Informal Learning Environment
Educational trips provide valuable educational opportunities ways from the classroom, without using textbooks and other tools used in a normal school setting. Students on Educational trip destination has staff members who do hands-on teaching with visiting students, such as at a science center or historical museum, the students will be excited to learn from someone new. (Cunningham, 2010).
Fun: No matter how much students learn during a fieldtrip, their favourite memories may be based on their enjoyment of the day. Getting away from school for a day or even half a day is always exciting for students, and fieldtrips are always highly anticipated. Students will have fun with their friends and they also may return to the classroom with a renewed focus on their school.
Perspective: Part of how students benefit from educational trips is by gaining new perspectives on the world. This is especially true for more extensive fieldtrips where students travel farther away from home. By coming into a direct contact with a different environment or even a new culture or language, students can better understand their place in the community.
Learning Styles: Educational trip will often cater for more than one learning style, making them excellent teaching tools for certain students. Classroom lectures apply primarily to audio learners, who learn best by listening. Visual learner can benefit from visual aids, which exist in the classroom, but are much more frequently during a fieldtrip. Also, for tactile learners, Educational trips offer an uncommon opportunity to perform hands-on learning.
Variety: Fieldtrips also function to put some variety into otherwise regimented lesson plans. Instead of spending much time in the classroom, students get to learn in a new environment with instructors. Educational trips also may give students a chance to interact with students from other schools as they learn together or participate in group activities.
Classroom Supplement: It’s important for instructors and administrators to choose Educational trips that augment existing lesson plans and synchronize with classroom learning. A fieldtrip that teachers choose for these reason can serve to illustrate difficult concepts or extend the general nature of a classroom lesson by giving more specific information.
Reward: Before an educational trip even takes place, it can begin to produce benefits for students. By not allowing students with behavior or academic problems to participate in a fieldtrip, teachers can encourage good behavior and motivate students to work-hard with prospect of a fieldtrip coming as a reward. The most informative fieldtrips usually have an element of recreation, making them a time to unwind for all students.
Robinson (2012), Corroborating Vogel (2012)expressed the fact that fieldtrip is an important pedagogical method that:
      (i)    Bridge the gap between education and hands-on experience.
(ii)    It is a crucial tool for every student to acquire increased knowledge, culture and help to shape their future.
(iii)    It gives students the opportunities to be cognitively and challenged, as they explore areas of personal interest and curiously in a bidirectional communication with each other and adult facilitators.
(iv)    Reinforces previous classroom lessons and brings a higher level of realism and believing.
      (v)    Promotes a clearer understanding of the world, its working and relationship.
Rosenberg (2014) Opined that students who are involved in real biological concepts at firsthand, have better grasp of the subject in contrast to the factual textbook approach. Tang (2013) also agreed that a well conducted fieldtrip could provide a firm basis for understanding reality, encourage critical enquiry and gives students a sense of personal achievement. Lynn (2012) also maintained that fieldtrip promotes the spirit of adventure in students and teachers, give teachers and students the opportunity to ask questions from experts and resources person across during the visit. Fieldtrip provide entertainment for students and serves  as a powerful motivator for them. It broadens the students horizons to become acquainted with new values and ideas.
Vogel (2013) posited that fieldtrip is an essential and stimulating part of all biology students in senior secondary school. He identified the following importance of fieldtrip to effective teaching and learning of biology:-
      (i)    Taking the student of biology out of the classrooms provides students with essential practical experience.
(ii)    Give students of biology the opportunity to witness first hand, interaction of people with plants and animals in the ecosystem.
(iii)    Helps to develop students biological skills in teamwork and independent thought.
(iv)    Serves to illustrate biological ideas and methods introduced during teaching, seminars and tutorial. The benefits of fieldtrips cannot be overemphasized. Traditional fieldtrips are an important teaching tool. Field trips are the viable method of extending the traditional classroom environment to outdoors.

CHAPTER ONE - [ Total Page(s): 3 ]Statement of the problem    The urgent need for using fieldtrip as part of teaching pedagogy to make the teaching of biology more meaningful, pragmatic and comprehensible cannot be overemphasized. Recently, different reasons have been given for the fall in the quality of education in Nigeria. Thus, poor funding incompetence among teachers, poor service delivery among different educational bodies in Nigeria, poor maintainance culture and lack of enthusiasm or hesitation of teachers to embark o ... CHAPTER FOUR - [ Total Page(s): 2 ]From table 3, the calculated r value of 0.325 is greater than the table value 0.196 at 0.05 level of significance. The null hypothesis is therefore rejected. Hence, there is significant relationship between students attitude to fieldtrip and academic performance of students.Clerk (20120 confirmed that improved students attitude toward fieldtrip especially in science subjects enhance learning activity and ensure effective delutlery of educational products. Researches and global classrooms are rev ... Continue reading---
