From table 3, the calculated r value of 0.325 is greater than the table value 0.196 at 0.05 level of significance. The null hypothesis is therefore rejected. Hence, there is significant relationship between students attitude to fieldtrip and academic performance of students.
Clerk (20120 confirmed that improved students attitude toward fieldtrip especially in science subjects enhance learning activity and ensure effective delutlery of educational products. Researches and global classrooms are revealing the complex interplay of fieldtrip as a factor that influence students academic performance.
Discussion
The study investigated the influence of teachers attitude towards educational fieldtrip in biology in Ilorin metropolis. All the research question formulated for the study were accepted the result of the first research question shows that there is no significant relationship between teachers and student attitude to fieldtrip in biology in senior secondary schools in Ilorin metropolis. Educational fieldtrip in senior secondary by the teachers and student enhance the level of performance of student and their commitment to the teaching and learning of biology. The result agrees with the position of ojo (2014), in his opinion, fat rip should be rewarded as the method of teaching which allows students to observe, reason analyze than conclusion. He further posited that unlike the talk chalk method, fad tip is one of the few concrete pillars on which the effective teaching and learning of biology rests. A school field trip is a common option for schools to expand their students learning experience. A well organized field trip can be fun for students and ale teachers a chance to conduct a lesson without the limitation of a classroom.
In research question tow, the result shows that there is signifant relationship between teacher attitude to fieldtrip and the effective teaching of biology in senior secondary schools in Ilorin metropolis. Taking student on fieldtrip makes learning more effective as they will be able to gain vast ideas on the topic.
According to gatford (2011), fieldtrip facilitate the learning of abstract concepts and it motivate student through increased interest and curiosity fieldtrip increases student student and student teacher social interaction it also provide an opportunity to involve student, parents, and the teachers in the instructional programmed since parent must give their permission
Finally, the result revealed in the research questions shows that there is significant relationship between student attitude to fieldtrip in biology and student academic performance in senior secondary school in Ilorin metropolis Abayom, (2014) corroborated this finding that fieldtrip integrate knowledge, support learning and enhance teaching effectiveness Adedeji, (2015) affirmed that part of hoe student benefit from perspectives in the world this is especially true for more extensive educational trip where student travels farther away from home by coming into direct contact with a different environment or even a new culture or language student can better under stand their lace in the community and develop an openness to differences in others.
Joy,(2012) posited that, educational fieldtrip also function to put some variety into other wise regimented lesson plans. Instead of spending every day in the classroom, student get to learn in a new environment with new instructors educational fieldtrip also give student a chance interact with student from other schools as they learn together or participate in group activities Griffen (2011) affirmed that educational trip will often cater to more than one learning style, making them excellent teaching tools for certain student classroom lectures apply primary to audio learners can benefit from visual and, which exist in the class room but are mush more frequent during educational fieldtrip. Finally for tachle learners, educational fieldtrip offer an uncommon opportunity to perform hand-on learning.
