In table 12, the mean score of the respondents on the issue “Construction/Building materials in the Nigerian construction industry has continuously been developed and improved uponâ€, is 2.89 which is considered “positiveâ€. The issue that “most construction/building materials are produced in Nigeriaâ€, has a mean score of 1.19 and is considered “negativeâ€. Also on the issue that “most building/construction materials used in the Nigerian construction industry are of high quality and durableâ€, has a mean score of 2.58 and is considered “positiveâ€. On the issue that “most building/construction materials imported are modern and innovativeâ€, has a mean score of 2.75 and is considered “positiveâ€. The issue that “there are usually no difficulty in handling/workability of imported building/construction materials has a mean score of 3.58 which is considered “positiveâ€. Again that “Most of our recent materials used on construction’/building project can match or even superseded the ones used by most developing/developed countries†has a mean score of 1.74 and is considered “negativeâ€.
The above survey reveals that the Nigerian construction industry still depends on imported materials from advanced countries to sustain her activities. This not withstanding, the skills in utilizing the imported materials and components by our indigenous craftsmen and artisans have not posed any problem. The implication is that Nigerian construction industry personnels are willing and ready to adapt to any new changes in technological innovation.

In table 13, the respondents’ response on the issue “innovative technology/methodology of construction is an important issue in the Nigerian construction industry’, shows a “positive†response of 3.73; also that “most technology/methodology concept used in the Nigerian construction industry are developed in Nigeria†has a “negative†mean score of 2.25. That “we develop and produce most of the equipment/machines and tools used in the construction industry in Nigeria†has a “negative†mean score of 1.89; and that “our methods technology of construction has really advanced and can match that of other developed countries†has also a “negative†mean score of 1.96.
The above survey shows that the Nigerian construction industry still relies on imported machines and equipment for its services. Equally new methods of construction are borrowed or imported ideas.
