CHAPTER THREE
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.1 Introduction
This chapter describes the various methods and techniques used to collect and analyze the data gathered for the study to gain a deeper understanding of the topic under study.
The data collection stage is important since the result of the analysis is dependent on the quality of the data obtained. Therefore, the method selected for data collection must be the most appropriate to assist in achieving the objectives of the study.
3.2 Research Design
This is an inductive study and it is concerned with the development of some criteria which can be used to derive information about the nature of the (members) organization from the nature of the small portion also called the sample of the given organization or group.
The type of research design for this study is descriptive and it is conducted because a problem has not been clearly defined. It helps to determine the best research design, data collection method and selection of subjects.
Descriptive research often relies on both primary and secondary research such as reviewing available literature and/or data, and quantitative approaches such as gathering data with the aid of questionnaires, and more formal approaches through in-depth interviews.
The results of descriptive research are not usually for decision-making by themselves but they can provide significant insight into a given situation.
3.3 Population of the study
The population of a study is the census of all items or subjects that possess the characteristics or that have knowledge of the phenomenon being study. The populations of this study were both managers and employees of Apex Paints Ltd, Abeokuta-Lagos road, Abeokuta Ogun Nigeria. With 1054 respondents.
According to Wimmer and Dominick (2007) is a subset of the population that is the representative of the entire population and according to (Stanley, 1995) if the population is 30 you study all and (Bailey 1995) argued that if the population is 50 study all and if is more than this population you choose the sample to study by using required formula to know the population to study.
3.4 Sample size and sampling technique
Sampling is the selection of a subset of individual from within a statistical population to estimate characteristics of the whole population. The sample taken must be representative of the population from which the sample was drawn and the sample must have good size to warrant statistical analysis. An unbiased random selection of individuals is important in this study so that in the end the sample represents the population conceptually. Yard formula is also known as statistical formula is concerned with the application of normal approximation with 95% level of confidence and 5% level of error tolerance. However, in determining the sample size for the respondents to the questionnaires, I intended to adopt yard and yaro formula.

CHAPTER TWO - [ Total Page(s): 10 ]Thus, the AMP was based on three main conceptualizations (Kirzner, 1973).The first was the arbitraging market in which opportunities emerge for given market actors as others overlook certain opportunities or undertake suboptimal activity. The second was alertness to profit-making opportunities, which entrepreneurs discover and entrepreneurial advantage. The third conceptualization, following Say (1803) and Schumpeter (1934), was that ownership is distinct from entrepreneurship. In other words, e ... Continue reading---
CHAPTER FOUR - [ Total Page(s): 14 ]The F-Test (ANOVA)This is used to test the overall statically significant of the variables. It is meant to test the overall significance of the entire model as regards the dependent variable. It checks the joint variance of the explanatory variables. The level of significance to be used is 5%. Hence, if the probability is ≤ 0.05, the explanatory variables’ parameter estimates will be jointly statistically significant.a. Predictors: (Constant), market, innovationThe correlation betwe ... Continue reading---
CHAPTER FIVE - [ Total Page(s): 4 ]ï¶ Neo-classical Theory The neo-classical model emerged from the criticisms of the classical model and indicated that economic phenomena could be relegated to instances of pure exchange, reflect an optimal ratio, and transpire in an economic system that was basically closed. The economic system consisted of exchange participants, exchange occurrences, and the impact of results of the exchange on other market actors. The importance of exchange coupled with diminishing marginal utility c ... Continue reading---
