    • CHAPTER THREE RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
      3.1    Introduction
This chapter deals with the description of research methodology, the sampling technique, and limitation of data collection, type of instrument and reliability of data collection.
      3.2    Research Methodology
The methodology in this research investigation includes the population, the sample, the sampling method and sources of data.
      3.2.1    Population of the study
The population of this study is the employee of SCOA Nigeria Plc; more particularly the managers of the seven (7) divisions at their different levels who are 40 in number.
      3.2.2    The sample
      Sample size with Finite population
The total number of managers at different management level
asides the top management, are forty (40).    Since the    population of managers is known and available,
The study can use Yaro Yamane’s formula:

      3.2.3    Sampling Method
In determining the sample size, the stratified method of sampling was used. Here, the employees were classified according to their strata/position, and then the senior and junior managers were selected from where the testable sample size was selected.
      3.2.4    Sources of Data
The primary data of this study consists of responses obtained from the field survey. These data were therefore, subjected to qualitative descriptive analysis using simple relative percentages
and the likert scale analysis table. These were further subjected to statistical test using the chi-square. The secondary data for this study were obtained from already existing publication, books, Journals and unpublished thesis. The secondary data provided the concepts, ideas on which the primary data were created.
      3.3    Questionnaire Design
A 14 – item questionnaire was used to collect information from respondents. It was organized in sections so that each section could capture the relevant hypotheses of the study. The types of
question used are checklist, dichotomous and likert type questions. This is useful to collect information from very busy respondents.
      3.4    Method of Data Presentation
This shall be presented in chapter 4 using the simple relative and the likert scale table further tested with chi- square percentage for the analysis of the data collected.
      3.5    Limitation of Data Collection
There were restrictions in giving out some of the official records of the company which were needed and demanded for by the researcher. Also, in the course of testing the reliability of the data, some of the employees were not on seat to be interviewed and this limited the number of respondents.
      3.6    Reliability of Data Collection
The test/retest method is a method for testing the reliability of data collected on two different occasions. The scores of the respondents on the two tests are then examined in    order to establish the degree of consistency between them. This reliability test was carried out on test questionnaire eight(8), ten(10), and fifteen(14) and the statistical tool was the Chi-square method.
