3.6 RESEARCH APPROACH
There are two (2) research approaches namely: i. Deductive approach ii. Inductive approach, this research will make use of deductive approach because deductive approach aims to find answer to a statement or question and how the research set out to answer it.
3.7 POPULATION OF THE STUDY
A population is made up of all considered element or subject relating to phenomenon of interest to the researcher (Asiaka, 2000). This research is using SMEs in Abeokuta as a case study. This research is targeting owners of few small and medium scale businesses in Abeokuta metropolis. Although the population of SMEs in the metropolis is large. The total population that will be used will be 150
3.7.1 SAMPLE SIZE DETERMINATION
Sampling is the selection of a subset of individual from within a statistical population to estimate characteristics of the whole population. The sample taken must be representative of the population from which the sample was drawn and the sample must have good size to warrant statistical analysis. An unbiased random selection of individuals is important in this study so that in the end the sample represents the population conceptually. Yard formula is also known as statistical formula is concerned with the application of normal approximation with 95% level of confidence and 5% level of error tolerance. However, in determining the sample size for the respondents to the questionnaires, I intended to adopt yard and yaro formula.
