4.3 MEAN RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS
The following research questions guided the work:
a. To what extent does strategic planning lead to the increase of organization’s productivity?
b. How does appropriate technology guarantees the implementation of strategic pl anning?
c. How can the effective use of manpower affects the strategic planning process of the organization?
The research questions are treated separately.
Research question one:
To what extent does strategic planning lead to the increase of organization’s p roductivity?
This research question was answered using responses from question 9 which says “Strategic Planning enhances productivity in your organizationâ€
The mean of 4.2173 with a corresponding stand ard deviation of 1.1371 shows that the question was accepted since the mean is greater than the cut off point of 3.0 that is
( 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1)/5Therefore, a conclusion is reached that to a great extent, strategic planning leads to increase productivity in organizations.
Research question two:
How does appropriate technology guarantee the implementation of strategic planning ?
The responses from question item 10 were used to answer the research question. Question 10 says “Appropriate technology does guarantee the implementation of strategic planningâ€
The research question was accepted because a mean value of 3.8295 and a corresponding standard deviation of 1.31769 were obtained from the calculation.
This implies that appropriate technology guarantees the implementation of strategic planning .
Research question three
How can the effective use of manpower affects the strategic planning in the organization?
The above research question was answered using responses from question item 13 which says that “Sound strategic planning does depend on effective use of manpowerâ€
The question item was accepted because a mean of 4.2946 was obtained with a standard deviation of 0.98745. The mean mark is higher than the 3 point cut off mark. This shows that “S ound strategic planning does de pend or effective use of manpower?
