    • TABLE XV
How does management rate the activities of the organization?

The above table is telling us that 40 respondents representing 59.7% of the total respondents said that the management rates the activities of the organization as excellent while 27 respondents representing 40.3% of the total respondents said that they rate it as being good.

From the above table, 12 respondents said that the problem their organization is passing through, is illiteracy, 10 respondents said that it is lack of finance, 6 respondents opined that it is poor management of the organization, 4 respondents said that it is embezzlement of fund while 35 respondents which is the highest emphasis that it is through noncha llant attitude of some staff.

Table XVII shows us that 14 respondents representing 20.9 % of the total respondents believed t hat solution to problems encountered in an organization is provision of proper education to staff, 11 respondents representing 16.4% of the total respondent said that it is through getting of government grants and finally 42 respondents which is the highest number agreed that the problems can be solve through having of good co -operation from staff.
      TEST OF HYPOTHESIS
Here the researcher will test the validity of the assumption made earlier in chapter one of the study.
      Hypothesis 1
Strategic planning in an organization helps a lot in the achievement of an organizational set goal.
Strategic planning in an organization does not help in the achievement of an organizational set goal. In testing of the hypothesis of question of table IX, chi-square method will be used.

      Fe
      Where
      X 2 = Chi-square
Fo = Frequency Observed Fe = Frequency expected
Assumption    Degree of freedom    Df = (n-1)
      Level of significance = 0.5
      Decision Rule
Accept alternative hypothesis if calculated value of X 2 is greater than the critical value otherwise reject alternative hypothesis.

      X 2 = 33.5 + 33.5
      X 2 = 67
      Degree of freedom Df = (n-1) = 2-1
      Df = 1
      Level of significance = 0.05
To determine the critical value of X 2 from appendix 1 of business research methodology by J ohn Orji .
      X 2 critical = 3.841.
Therefore to compare the two values X 2 critical  = 3.841
      X 2 calculated = 67
      X 2 calculated is > X 2 critical 67 > 3.841
      Decision reject null hypothesis
Since the calculated value of X 2 is greater than the critical value, the researcher accepts alternati ve hypothesis which says that strategic planning in an organization helps a lot in the achievement of an organization al goal.
      Hypothesis II
Using strategic planning in the achievement of an organizational goal is faced with many hindrances.
Using strategi c planning in the achievement of an organizational goal is not faced with many hindrances.
In testing of the hypothesis of question of table X, chi square method will be used.
