      3.1 METHODOLOGY
          Population of the study: since the research work covers across a larger society. The researcher divides Niger state using cluster system for easy study. The collection of zakat started from 2001 to 2005 including animals, crops, and cash. The total amounts of goods collected are reflected in the data presentation. The zakat distribution. Also comment as horn 2001 to 2005 to the 5 zones in the state.
      3.2    SAMPLE AND SAMPLING TECHNIQUES
          Niger state being the case study was divided into zones, districts and wards for cluster technique operation to take place. There are about eight zones with hundredth districts  across the state.
      3.3    RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
      Data and information were collected through the use of the following instrument.
      (a)          Documentation on the execution of zakat board activities.
      (b)           Through the uses of observation by researcher.
      (c)           And the uses of interview, interviews were conducted with      officials of zakat board.
      3.4    VALIDITY OF THE INSTRUMENT
      since the zakat board has been charged legally for the collection and distribution of zakat data and information gathered through this instruments were valid, since it provides adequate coverage of the zakat board activity.
      3.5     RELIABILITY OF THE INSTRUMENT:
          The Three Instruments employed for the collection of data and information have high reliability since the three were combined together at once.
      3.6    ADMINISTRATION OF RESEARCHER INSTRUMENT
      The Interview questions were structured to ease and to allow official of zakat board to respond quickly such of these question are:
      (a)    To how many zones is the state been divided?
      (b)    How many numbers of potential and actual categories of zakat recipients in the state?
      (c)    What are  the commodities that are zakatable?
      (d)    What is the total number of zakat collected so far?
      Observation, the plight and condition of living of people through which the cseal  clEer observed, gives the true pictures of economic level of people.
      Documentation, the researcher closely gathered the records, its data, and information available at the zakat board personally.
      4.3    DISCUSSION OF FINDINGS:
      From the finding, It is gathered that, the activity of zakat board on the collection of zakat commence from 2001.
      A total of 152 numbers of zakat payers was recorded as at  September 2001 to august 2003, the total collection of cash, grains and animals valued to about=N=30,903,024 million naira was recorded. Between September 2004 to June 2005 some significant increase in zakat collection was made between September 2001 to august 2003 the total zakat value =N=15,325,000 million naira was distributed to 613 person (recipients).
      Also between September 2001 to august 2004 a total cash volue =N=4,976,628 was distributed among 1,432 recipients. And between September 2004 to June 2005 a total amount of = N=2,345,490 million naira was distributed to 991 numbers of recipients across eight (8) zones with the exclusion of minna and bargu zone. This could be due to none collection was made from those zones during the period.
