3.3 Compressive Strength Test
The cube was placed in the crushing machine; the load was applied to opposite sides of the cube. The load was applied gently and gradually therefore, increase in the compression leads to increase in the load till the cube reaches yield limit.
3.4 Aggregate Impact Value Test
Aggregates was placed on the aggregate impact value apparatus to determine the classification and strength of each aggregate particles.
3.5 Sieve Analysis
Sieve analysis was carried out to determine the grading or size distribution of aggregate (fine and coarse). Sieve analysis was used to determine the grading or size of the crushed concrete and natural aggregate (granite). The samples were air-dried and then pass through the BS sieve no 20mm, 10mm, 6.3mm, 5.0mm by hand shaking. The material on each sieve was weighed using weighing balance and then the results was tabulated.

ABSRACT - [ Total Page(s): 1 ]ABSTRACTIn the face of a possible scarcity of natural aggregates in the future in line with sustainable construction, this research investigates the feasibility of the use of recycled coarse aggregates as an alternative to natural coarse aggregates in structural concrete. The recycled coarse aggregate used in the research was processed from waste concrete. The percentage of recycled coarse aggregates by weight of all in aggregates in the test mixes were 0%, 5% 10% 20% and 30 % respectively. Th ... Continue reading---
