3.0 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
The key factors in the operation of any research work are the appropriateness and suitability of research design to the purpose of the main work. Research methodology in Civil Engineering analysis involves a complex network of procedure ranging from conceptual model of classification to manipulation of data processes.
The first, step in describing research methodology is to explain what data are needed to solve the problem, why these particular data are essential and where and how they are to be obtained.
This chapter deals with the methods used in analyzing “the consequences and evaluation of foreign companies on road construction in Kwara stateâ€.
3.1 TYPES OF DATA REQUIRED
The data for this research were obtained from primary sources and secondary sources.
3.1.1 PRIMARY SOURCE
Administration of questionnaire was used to obtain the following types of data.
1. General information about the correspondent.
2. Relationship of foreign companies with government/ministries.
3. Information concerning social-economic activities of foreign companies.
4. Information concerning security/health of Nigerians.
3.1.2 SECONDARY SOURCE
The secondary source was used to find some additional information which supplements that of the primary source. The data got from secondary source were in form of documents and records and they include newspapers and government respondents.
3.2 BRIEF EVALUATION OF QUESTIONNAIRES
Seventy five (75) questionnaires was printed and out of these numbers, 58 (fifty eight) was properly filled. So (fifty eight) 58 questionnaires will be evaluated. These questionnaires were distributed to Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) a company owned by the Jews from Israel with head office in Abuja but has a site presently in Ilorin, Kwara State, Bulletine Construct Company owned by a Lebanese with headquarters in Ilorin. Chalvet construction company, Kwara State Ministry of Works. Yolas an indigenous consultancy firm, and BAL Engineering and indigenous consultancy firm. These foreign companies are registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission in Abuja.
