    • This study examined the factors affecting the implementation of immunization. This study investigated the factors affecting the implementation of immunization in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria. It was  carried out in the four regions (north, south, east and west) of the local government area. The study employed a cross-sectional study and a semi- structured interview administered questionnaire to obtain the data. The study population was Mothers/Caregivers of children aged 0-5years. Sample size of 400 under fives and their mothers were interviewed.

Data were entered and analysed using statistical packages for social sciences version 20. The study showed that Some benefits of immunization include; preventing illness, death and to make child grow healthy and strong. Also, the main reasons for each missed immunization dose were drug issues (unavailability), bad road/transport issues, baby or mother not healthy and busy schedule.Despite the fact that childhood vaccinations are available free of cost and with growing awareness, the childhood immunization rate in Nigeria is not yet satisfactory. The study recommended that there is need for educational empowerment of mothers since it has been identified as a predictor of complete immunization uptake.
