CHAPTER FOUR
4.1 DESIGN SYNTHESIS /ANALYSIS
DESIGN CRITERIA: the design objectives are obtained as follows.
- To meet up the demand of a primary health centre
- To enhance the function relationship of various unit
- To avoid direct Penetration of sun rays, especially into ward and where people stay long
- To achieve natural lighting and ventilation where necessary
- To let the users movements with in the centre to be as self directional as possible
- To achieve enough comfort ability for staff and patient.
4.2 THE DESIGN FORM
- To let the centre confirm with the pattern and treatment of the structure being erected at the community for familiarity.
- To allow for expansion, especially in the numbers of wards.
4.3 AESTHETICS
To let the centre not to look odd, and also the surrounding should be pointed is a colour that will sint the health centre such colours are whit, cream colour, Brown colour, sky blue colour etc.
4.4 DESIGN CONTROL
From the metrological data given, the prevailing climatic conditions do not present any adverse condition with regard to the planning and designing of the proposed health centre, thus the design will be stated.
4.5 CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT
One guiding design concept is directed two wards the segregation of the major zones of the health centre which are the out-patient department supporting facility unit, the maternity wing, the emergency and administrative we units.
Therefore aim image representation of letter A is being used at the health department units.
