RESULTS
Preamble
This chapter covers the demographic data, responses, the research questions raised, hypotheses tested and summary of findings.
Demographic data
The demographic data were analyzed using descriptive statistics involving frequency count and percentage. This is presented in the table below.
Table one shows the distribution of the respondents by gender, age, religion and family type. The table revealed that 235 (52.2%) of the respondents participated in the study were male while 215 (47.8%) were female. Based on age, 417 (92.7%) were 16-30years old of age while 33 (7.3%) were 31years and above. Religion of the respondents shows that 11 (2.4%) were African Traditional Religion adherents, 178 (39.6%) Christians and 361 (58.0%) Muslims. Respondents family type shows 306 (68.0%) of them to be from monogamous family and 114 (32.0%) from polygamous home.

It then indicates that respondents’ age has no influence in their motivation for drug abuse.
