
Simple random sampling technique was used so that equal chance were given, to all mothers in the three health facilities selected. Selection was made using lucky dip method, where 240 papers were wrapped with 120 yes and 120 no.
Those who picked yes were given the questionnaire to fill
3.5 INSTRUMENT FOR DATA COLLECTION
The questionnaire were developed by the researcher for the collection of data it was divided into (2) section , A and B
Section A contain questions on demographic data about the respondents, while section B contain close-ended question developed to answer the research questions.
The literate members of the sample were given the questionnaire by hand to fill while the illiterate ones were given assistance by the researches to fill the questionnaire
3.5.1 PILOT STUDY
The structured questionnaire were given to small group of child bearing age woman in another health centre in the community to determine whether there were any questions that the respondents found difficult to answer which may require reframing. The instrument was tested in a population not within the study group and all necessary corrections were made to make it valid for the study
3.5 RELIABILITY
The researcher tested the reliability of the questionnaire by administering them to ten (10) women of child bearing age in the Moba Local Government in Otun Ekiti State. During the child welfare clinic session that were not part of the study sample, after a week the researcher used a test-retest method to administer the questionnaire again and it yielded the same result, reliability was ascertain.
3.5 VALIDITY
The questionnaire was presented to the project supervisor and other experts in the filed to ascertain the validity in terms of wordings and content by making some responsive corrections and suggestions.
3.6 DATA COLLECTION
The data for this study was collected through primary source by administering the questionnaire to the one hundred and twenty (120) respondents in the three selected health facilities personally by the researcher. The illiterate respondents were interviewed using the questionnaire and their responses filled by the researcher, also some observation of some variable were made to obtain an accurate and in dept knowledge as the problem in question.
3.7 DATA ANALYSIS
The data collected were presented in percentages and analyzed using frequency tables and graphical presentation.
