Irewolede, Sawmill and Okefomo were not significantly different from one another when compared in terms of the heavy metals examined in the study with p> 0.05 for all the metals. For instance, iron load of Irewolede with 2.25 ± 0.43 was not different from Sawmill with 2.37 ± 0.46 and Okefomo with 2.15 ± 0.39 respectively. The heavy metals across the three locations bear the same letter which makes them not to be significantly different statistically both between and within.
• Hypothesis Three: There is no significant value in biochemical oxygen demand and chemical oxygen demand content from the study area.
Superscripts a, b and c show that the values are significantly different while all the values bearing the same letter shows no significant different statistically. The COD for Okefomo was 101.06 ± 6.92, Sawmill was 104.01 ± 10.26 and Irewolede was 77.67 ± 1.44 respectively. When COD of the three locations were compared, Okefomo and Irewolede were not significantly different while Sawmill was found to be different from both Okefomo and Irewolede (p<0.05). With respect BOD, Okefomo with mean and standard deviation of 54.39 ± 3.73 and Sawmill with mean and standard deviation of 56.00 ± 5.52 were significantly different from Irewolede which has mean and standard deviation of 45.08 ± 3.65 but Okefomo was not different from Sawmill when compared. There were significant differences between the groups but no significant different within the groups.
