    • Conclusions

Based on the findings of the study:

      1. The challenges facing the adoption and use of ICT elements are lack of technical know-how / poor ICT knowledge, poor funding, lack of comprehensive ICT policy, unsteady power supply, and paucity of ICT elements.
      2. The extent to which ICT elements are available for teaching in Anambra State Secondary Schools are low.
      3. The teachers are exposed to ICT competencies whereas the students are not exposed to these competencies.

This reveals that the usage of ICT elements is still at its infant stage in Anambra State Secondary Schools. The National Orientation Seems to be the problem, the awareness level seems very low on government part and hence government has not shown much enthusiasm to pay realistically for usage of ICT elements in secondary schools. This is expresses by the grossed inadequate ICT elements in schools.

Therefore to heighten the usage of ICT elements in secondary schools, appropriate methods of teaching have to be adopted by teachers. There is need to provide enough computer systems and other related elements , train teachers, organize workshop/seminars on ICT, Provide constant electric power supply and provide fund for maintenance.

      Implication of the Study

The findings of the present study have obvious educational implications. The implications are as follows-

      1. In the absence of competence ICT / Computer subject teachers, the objectives of ICT usage will remain unattainable.
      2. Laboratory facilities (ICT elements ) are indispensable to the teaching of computer subject/ ICT in secondary Schools
      3. Demonstration/ practical methods of teaching should be the most frequently adopted methods of teaching ICT/ Computer subject as these heightens students achievement in ICT usage.

      Limitations of the Study

In the course of the study, numerous constraints were encountered, such as lack of interest from most of the respondents in completing the form. This affected the reliability of data got from their responses.

More also, time and financial constraints; much money was required for the production of questionnaire used. The time allocated to the study was insufficient to carry out investigation with crucial aspect of teaching and learning process in secondary schools. The limited time also hindered research into rural areas of Anambra state besides Awka metropolis.

The project work was very burdensome to the researcher as he combined the research work with his academic program at school.
