    • 1.4    Scope of the Study
The scope of this project work focuses majorly on online news portal, using Kebbi state university of science and Technology Aliero, (Computer Science and Information Technology Department) as a case study.
1.5    `    Limitation of the Study
This project work just like every software development process has its own limitations. The following factors posed serious limitation to the project work: Financial constraints: a study like this nature is expected to be carried out on a broader base but because of lack of funds required, some function and programs could not be applied.
Time constraint: in the course of the study, time posed a serious problem in carrying out the test. The duration given for the conduct of this study was short.
Non-availability of materials: during the course of this research, there were non- availability of some critical documents and materials as a result of limited internet services.
      1.6    Analysis of Chapters
This report was prepared to give comprehensive details of the research work I acquire during the compilation of this project work.
The project work is based on five chapters of study.
Chapter One covers the area of introduction to the project work, limitation of the study, scope of the study, significance of the study, and objectives of the study.
Chapter Two deals with the literature review about the project work, some of which includes the information system in the academic system, discussion on data and information, the information system and overview of database and those that have contributed the area of the study.
Chapter Three deals with the methodology used in the research work containing data collection methods. It covers the analysis of both existing and the new system in view, pointing out some problems encountered in the existing system. It also discusses the advantage and disadvantage of the new system.
Chapter Four is concerned with the system design and implementation. This covers the input and output specifications of the work, choice of programming language used in developing the application, the software testing, integration and implementation, the system requirements for compatible use of the software and finally how the software can be used.
Chapter Five of the project work deals with the summary, conclusion and recommendation of the study.

CHAPTER TWO - [ Total Page(s): 2 ]2.3    DatabaseIn the early days of computerization, it was normal to maintain specific files for individual applications. Data were processes centrally in batches and there was little or no online interrogation of data. This approach is wholly inefficient for most of today’s data processing systems. Supporting this, Vossen (1991) enumerated the problems that result from organizing data using the file system:a)        There exists a high redundancy between files, which result fro ... CHAPTER THREE - [ Total Page(s): 2 ]CHAPTER THREERESEARCH METHODOLOGY AND SYSTEM ANALYSIS3.0    IntroductionResearch methodology is a systematic way to solve the research problem, rather than haphazardly using a collection of methods to perform research. Research methods, on the other hand, refer to the methods and techniques used by the researcher in performing the research such as data collection techniques, data processing techniques and instruments. Kothari (1985). This chapter contains the methodologies in the research app ... Continue reading---
