(From L-R) A black circle is represents a start symbol it is always the ï¬rst symbol in an activity diagram. A rounded rectangle is used to represent actions in the system this may be input output or some other form of action, A diamond to represent decisions i.e. change flow of control if certain conditions are fulï¬lled and ï¬nal the encircled black circle is used to represent the ï¬nal state, it is usually the last symbol in an activity diagram. The recruitment management system consists of two activity diagrams to accurately depict the flow of control in the R.M.S the two activity diagrams are as shown below:
In Fig 3.10 once the authenticity of the candidate is veriï¬ed a dashboard is displayed showing various operations that can be performed by the candidate (Results, Upcoming exams etc.) here we take a look at the most important which is the take exam. The candidate selects the exam to take. The double triangles indicate a while loop which indicates that while time allotted for the exam is not zero the candidate can keep on answering questions but once the time allotted for the exam is zero it displays his result.
