      3.0     METHODOLOGY
      3.1    SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT LIFECYCLE
System development methodology is a standard set of steps used by organization to develop and support their information system, often follows a lifecycle, the system development lifecycle is a common methodology for system development in many organizations, it marks the steps or phase in information system. Systems development methodology is a standard process followed in an organization to conduct all the steps necessary to analyze, design, implement, and maintain information systems. (Joseph S, Valacich, 2015).
System development lifecycle SDLC are divided into four stages namely planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation and operation.
      3.2    SYSTEM PLANNING
This is the first phase in the SDLC it has two primary activities which are: firstly, identify the need for a new system or enhanced system secondly; to investigate and determine the proposed systems scope
      3.3    SYSTEM ANALYSIS
The second phase of the system development lifecycle is the analysis.
During this phase, the analyst thoroughly studies the organization’s current system procedure and the information systems used to perform tasks
      3.3.1    DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM
The current system been employed by Al-burhan cooperative Society (University of Ilorin) is completely manual based. The staff at the cooperative register new member, grant loan, operate the cooperative, write down everything down in a book.
3.3.2    PROBLEMS OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM
The following are some of the problem faced with the existing system:
      •    The existing system is time consuming
      •    The system does not keep adequate records of the members
      •    The system is not efficient and adequate
      •    Mismanage of record
3.3.3 IMPROVEMENT OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM OVER THE EXISTING SYSTEM
The proposed system is concentrated on easing the management of records of the member of the cooperative, and other transactions involved in the cooperative in an online environment. The system would manage record about the cooperative record, members, other transaction with the use of information tools. The creation of a web based application which can be accessed from anywhere in world in digital format of all existing records of the members of the cooperative. The system would make member category, product, transaction and payment processing online available.
    Record will be efficiently maintained through database management system
    Reducing the complexity of the system and maintain large information
    Ability to make payment and other transactions online
    It eliminate queuing and help make better decision
    Security of the web application will be ensuring by putting SSL(Secured Socket Layer) and HTTPS in place
    The system provides easy search for records.
    There will be more data integrity
      3.3.4 HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT
The hardware and software are the main bases for the functionality of the system. They are both required for maintaining and hosting of the system as the software are the collection of instructions that work with the hardware which is the physical component of a computer system. The requirements are identified in other to ensure efficient and proper functionality of the system. Table 1 AND 2 show the hardware and software requirement.
