    • This study was carried out to examine school feeding and academic performance of primary school pupils in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. Specifically, the study determined the influence of school feeding program on attendance and academic performance of students of students, examined the effect of school feeding program on pupil’s enrolment and academic performance in primary schools and examined the challenges of Nigeria school feeding program and proffer solution The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 120 responses were validated from the survey. The study adopted the motivation theory by Maslow (1954) and the expectation theory by Victor H. Vroom (1964). From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that school feeding program has effect of on pupil’s enrolment and academic performance in primary schools. Furthermore, there are challenges of Nigeria school feeding program which should be addressed. The study recommend government should setup a committee to survey the flood prone areas and recommend the areas which need to be covered with the SFP with the aim of increasing the coverage of the areas under school feeding programme especially the regions hard hit with floods to improve the enrolment rates. More so, the government through the Ministry of Finance should allocate more funds to the SFP kitty to ensure there is a constant supply of school meals so as to facilitate the pupils to attend school regularly.
