    • Purpose of Study
      The purpose of the study was to addressthe gaps in informationthat most scholars have not addressed regarding state of education and learning conditions in Nigeria. In particular, the purpose was to investigate the poor methods of teaching in Ovum girls Secondary school, Aba.
      1.4 Objectives of thestudy
      The objectives of the study were:
      Todetermine the availability of skillful teachers in Ovum girls Secondary school, Aba.
      Toassess the use of poorteachingmethods inOvum girls Secondary school, Aba.
      To determine the teaching methods most used by schools teachers in Nigeria.
      To identify the impact of poor teaching methods on academic performances of students in Ovum girls Secondary school, Aba.
      ResearchQuestions.
      The following research questions were posed:-
      How available is adequateteachingmethods inOvum girls Secondary school, Aba.
      Howeffective is the use of these teaching methods in Ovum girls Secondary school, Aba
      What is the effect of poor teaching methods on performance of secondary school students
      Significance of thestudy
      The rationale for this study was that it would provide a better understanding of the teaching methods of schools in Nigeria. These results would help school administrators and Ministry of Education officials to identify effective teaching methods, programs and methods. The study could also help administrators to question the use of teaching methods in the two districts studied. In addition, the findings could help formulate recommendations for programs that could improve the provision and accessibility of educational materials at the high school for girls ova in Aba.
      The study should also help beginning and experienced teachers to improve their skills in the selection, creation and use of teaching methods. This study was conducted because of a discrepancy noted between the excellent performance desired by teachers and the actual performance.
      Delimitation of thestudy
      The study was restricted to Ovum girls Secondary school, Aba. This was due mainly to an interest the researcher has in the school. And also due toinsufficient data on private high schools available to theresearcher.
      Limitations of thestudy.
      Due to financial challenges on the part of the researcher, the study could not be extended to all schools in Nigeria. InsteadOvum girls Secondary school was used.
      . The findings may, therefore, not be generalized to otherschools but could be useful for future comparative studies. The other challenge the researcherfaced was limited documented source of literature on the study topic done locally inNigeria.
      1.9 Organization of the study.
      This study is divided into five chapters. Chapter one of the dissertation deals with the general description of the study, the definition of the problem, the research question, the objectives of the research and the importance of the study. Chapter 2 presents all the relevant bibliographical research on waste management and related concepts. Chapter 3 deals with the identification of the most appropriate research methodology for this research, and Chapter 4 provides an analysis of the data of the lessonslearned in this field. Finally, Chapter Five summarizes the findings, conclusions and recommendations.
