The study also ascertain the difference between learning with visualization tool and not learning with them. The study further investigate the of availability of information visualization tools in secondary schools. And the study assess the level of awareness on the use of information visualization tools among teachers in secondary schools. The research adopted the survey descriptive design and with the aid of convenience sampling method, the researcher conveniently selected one-hundred and sixty-five (165) participant who are teachers and students of selected secondary schools in Portharcourt Metropolis in Rivers State. The instrument used for collection of data or information in this research is mainly the questionnaires.
The questionnaires were distributed to some respondents where one hundred and fifty (150) copies were retrieved and validated for analysis. The study made use of of descriptive analysis and where data from field survey was analyzed using simple percentage, presented in frequencies and tables. Findings of the study therefore conclude that the effect of Information visualization tools on the academic performance of students is positive and there is a significant difference between learning with visualization tool and not learning with them. The study therefore recommends that ?Teachers should encourage students on the use of web-based package to learn since it is interactive, student-centred approach and user friendly. Visualization should be closely monitored as much as possible and provide a more detailed means of proper visualization to obtain more accurate results.
