• Influence Of School Feeding Program On Pupils Enrolment, Attendance And Academic Performance In Primary Schools

    • This study was carried out to examine the influence of school feeding program on pupils enrolment, attendance and academic performance in primary schools using 4 selected primary schools in Ese Odo local Government Area, Ondo State as case study. Specifically, the study was aimed at finding out the influence of school feeding program on attendance and academic performance of students of students; Analyze the effect of school feeding program on pupil’s enrolment and academic performance in primary schools; Examine the challenges of Nigeria school feeding program and proffer solution. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. 

      A total of 230 responses were validated from the survey. The study adopted the motivation and expectation theories. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that there is effect of school feeding program on pupil’s enrolment and academic performance in primary schools. The study recommend government and the donors, stakeholders in education should ensure the schools have constant supply of food so as to ensure the children do not go hungry and hence keep the children alert in class to actively participate in the learning process. More so, government should ensure that all the structures including logistics are put in place to ensure that the schools in the flood prone regions have adequate food so that hunger does not force any child to drop out of school.
