    • CHAPTER THREE
      RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
      This chapter presents the method used in carrying out the study. Specifically, it describes the study design, population and sample research instrument, data collection procedure and data analysis.
       Research Design
      The research design adopted for the study was descriptive survey of correlational type. This is because of the large nature of the study population, the researcher attempted to survey all its member, thus use random sampling technique. Data was collected from a large sample of secondary school teachers.
      Population, Sample and Sampling Techniques
      The population for this study comprised all secondary school teachers in Moro Local Government Area, Kwara State. The total population of secondary schools were 32 out of which 10 was used for the study. A total of 350 respondent were used for the study out of which 100 teachers were used as respondents for the secondary stratified and purposive sampling techniques was used for the study.


      Research Instrument
          The researcher designed questionnaire title “Determinants of job satisfaction among the secondary school teachers (DJSASST) was used to collect data for the study. The questionnaire was made up of two sections. Section A was designed to elicit information on personal information of each teacher such as Age, Sex, Teaching subject, years of experience and Section was administered the teachers respectively. Section B contained fourteen questions which were meant to determine teacher’s level of job satisfaction. Likert scale was used for the respondents to tick as: Strongly agree (SA) - 4, Agree (A) – 3, disagree (D) – 2, strongly disagree (SD) - 1  
      Validity and Reliability of Instrument
          The research was administered by the researcher and presented to the supervisor and other expert in the field of educational management, measurement and evaluation for their critisms, comments and suggestions. This was done to ensure face validity. The supervisor scrutinized and modified some of the items of the instrument.
      Procedure For Data Collection
          Before the questionnaires were given to the respondents, the consent and the maximum cooperation of the teachers in the selected area were sought for. The questionnaires were distributed to the respondents and at the end of the administration of the questionnaire, all were found to be adequately filled and used for the analysis. 
      Method of Data Analysis.
          The data collected were analysed using appropriate descriptive statistical techniques. Specifically, research questions 1,2,3, and 4  were answered using simple frequency count and percentage and mean rating.
