Concept of Learners’ Opinion of School Experience and their Academic Performance
The school is a social institution whose members are in continuous interactions. According to Olaniyi (1992) anyone who visits two or more schools will undoubtedly note difference in class sizes courses offering and physical surroundings. These are concrete elements which help to form the distinguishing characteristics of each individual school. Other perhaps less obvious characteristics of each individual school includes its climate Brazil (2004) opined that the concept of school climate which can be interchangeable use as school experience refers to the quality of experience perceived communication within which we can consider this atmosphere in School relations, value, attitudes and shared feelings by the actors in the school system.
However, school experience set the tone for all the teaching and learning done in the social environment as predictive of learners’ enthusiasm and ability to learning and develop in a healthy ways.
Similarly, Ogunlade A.A (1992) defined opinion as the process by which people translate, interpret and observe sensory impressions in a coherent and unified view of the world around them. He further opined that opinion is our sensory experiences of the world around us and involved both the recognition of environmental stimuli. Through the perpetual processes we can gather information about properties and elements of environment that are critical to out survival opinion not only create our experience of the world around us, rather it also allows us to act within our environment.
Psychologist, identified opinion to include the five senses, touch, sight, taste, smell and feel. It likewise includes what is known as preconception as set of senses involving the ability to defect changes in our body, knowledge, skills and experience However, opinion vary from person to person different people perceive different things about the same situation But more than that, we can assign different meaning to what we perceive.
According to Olaniyi (1992), school experience is the atmosphere that permeates the school environment He also saw it as internal characteristics (qualities) of a school which distinguish one school from other schools and influence the behavior of the learner in it. He stressed further that when writing about school climate which was interchangeably used with the school experience, identified six organizational grouping, these are open, autonomous, controlled, familiar, paternal and closed climates.
The Role of Learners’ Opinion of Teachers’ Effectives Classrooms Management
Adenisa (1990), expressed that the heart of Nigerian educational system is the teacher. Awoyemi (1995), opined that no matter what education policy is made, unless the teacher is effective, all efforts Will be fruitless. According to him, the teacher is Important to what happens in the classroom. Clark and. Starr (1996), defined classrooms as a place for teaching and any disturbance which prevents or hinders learning is unpardonable orderliness is a must. The difference between the classroom of today and that of yesterday is in the type of order. The teacher in an ideal classroom tries to emphasize courtesy, co-operation, and self-control. Instead of the complete totalitarianism of some traditional method, modern class teacher stresses the freedoms of democracy. The class is free of fears. The learners are citizens of the class not subject of the teacher. Their Job is to co-operate for the common goal, to obey the laws of the classroom democracy, and to respect and obey proper authority. Their role in the class is similar to our own as citizens of our country. Classes should be permissive only to the extent that they are supportive. The mental health of the learners will be fostered best in an orderly democratic class.
Furthermore, classroom management is defined as an act of a class teacher to arrange both the human and material resources and programme available for education and carefully use them systematical for the performance objectives. Classroom management, according to Nwosu (1994), has to do with the way educators handle their subject-matter, teaching aids and learners. Sometimes tagged class control, classroom management is directly related to the managing of instructions. Whenever people talk of classrooms management, attention is usually directed almost exclusively to the teachers in the classrooms.
