CHAPTER FOUR
DATA ANALYSIS AND RESULTS
Introduction
In this chapter, the researcher analysis and interpretation of the data were collected from the 10 (ten) selected Secondary Schools in Abeokuta North Local Government Area, with sampled populated of 30 (thirty) female learner and 30 (thirty) males learners Under these discussions, the results would be carefully expanded in question by question and part of the discussion would include explanation of the result within the context of the existing knowledge of the problem under focus. As stated in chapter three of this work, 30 (thirty) copies for female and 30 (thirty) for male learner of questionnaire designed for the study were distributed to female and male learners in the selected secondary schools Through the use of questionnaire, the data collected here include that of age, gender, school location (rural or urban), class level and department (art, commercial, science) each of these in one way or the other has comparative with learners, opinion of school experience and academic performance.
Data Presentation
This research is presented under the following sections.
1. Personal Data: This represents section (A) questions of the work. It consists of six (6) questions to get information on the personal characteristics of the respondents such as name of school, location, age, class level, department and gender.
2. Subject Matter: This consists of five (5) questions which are related to the study. And each question has sub-question under it. In this case, respondent were asked to choose either very good, good, average, fair, poor regarding the comparative study of learners opinion of school experience and academic performance in senior secondary school.
The above table shown that: 10 (17%) of the respondents are in Art department, 36 (60%) of the respondents are in commercial department, 23 (23%) of the respondents are in science department. This explains that the commercial department respondents had the highest number because Economics has direct relevance in their course/department. Economics deals with day to day activities.
