Hypotheses Testing
Main hypothesis. There is no significant relationship between school population and students’ academic performance in Ilorin South Local Government Area, Kwara State.
The result in table 3 shows that the calculated r-value of 0.218 is greater than critical value of 0.198 main while hypotheses which stated that there is no significant relationship between school population and students academic performance was rejected. This implies that population in the class determine the students’ performance.
Operational Hypotheses
Ho 1: There is no significant relationship between large class size and students academic performance
Table 4 indicated that calculated r-value of .190 is less than the critical value of .360 at 0.05 level of significance main while hypothesis is accepted, meaning that there is no significant relationship between large class size and students’ academic performance.
