This chapter presented the summary of finding, conclusion drawn from the finding of the study. It also contained the necessary recommendations for improving students’ academic performance summary
The study was designed to investigate in to the relationship between population and students’ academic performance in basic schools in Ilorin South Local Government Area Kwara State. The study was correlation research design that used two sets of questionnaire the first questionnaire were in line with school population and second questionnaire was a performance which used to collect students’ result. The population for the research comprised teachers of all secondary school used for the study proportional sampling techniques was used to select 10 out of various basic schools in Ilorin south local government area, Kwara state. Ten teachers were selected in each school making a total number of 100 respondents.
The study asserted that population of the class determine the level of performance of student in basic schools. It was also revealed the there was low enrolment to basic schools as a result of poverty and non challant attitude of government. according to the result obtained, it was revealed that level of student academic performance of basic school was averagely ok but there are other factor which may likely hundred the performance of students in basic schools. These are non- payment salary of teacher, work load of teachers non- consideration of teacher welfare an so on.
Conclusion
Conclusion it is generally behaved that for education to achieve its stated goal and objectives, there is need to considered appropriate number of student in the class as stated in national policy of education. In addition, student academic performance in both internal and external examinational would continue to go dawn ward if government is unable to measure the number of student in the class of this study that there is significant relationship between population and student academic performance
Recommendations
Based on the finding of this study, the following recommendation were made;
ï¶ Government should establish policy which will control number of student in the class.
ï¶ Provision of more employment for the people in the society so that poverty would reduced.
ï¶ Free text book, school feed and other teaching material should be given freely or low cost to attract more people to enroll the children to the school.
ï¶ Teaching materials should be provides to later for numbers of students in the class.
