      RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter deals with the method and procedure employed to carry out this study. Specifically, it focuses on the following:
      •    Research Design
      •    Population, Sample and Sampling Technique
      •    Instrumentation
      •    Procedure for Data Collection
      •    Method of Data Analysis
      Research Design
The researcher’s used descriptive design. The method was found appropriate for the study because it involves a systematic investigation into the relationship that exist between quality control and students academic performance in Ilorin Metropolis.
      Population, Sample and Sampling Techniques
The population for this study consists of the entire senior secondary schools in Ilorin Metropolis. The researcher made use of simple random sampling techniques to select 10 senior secondary schools in Ilorin metropolis 10 teachers were randomly selected from each of the senior secondary schools and in all, a total of 100 were drawn from the 10 senior secondary schools used for this study.
      INSTRUMENTATION
The major instrument of data collection for this study will be questionnaire. A structured questionnaire with relevant items will be used to gather data for the study. Therefore, the instrument will be developed by the researcher and will be titled; quality control and Student Academic Performance Questionnaire (QCASAPQ). In this regard, the questionnaire was divided into sections.
Section A, which is to collect demographic data of the respondents such as; school name, sex, length of service, and qualification the section B is the main body of the instrument which houses items relating to the subject matter under investigation. It will comprise 20 items on quality control. The items would be based on four (4) point Likert scale of strongly disagree (SD), disagree (D), agree (A) and strongly agree (SA). The respondents woud tick as appropriate for the item or statement given.
In validating the instrument, the draft instrument will be given to the researcher’s project supervisor, other lecturers within and outside the Department of Primary Education Studies as well as expert in the field of research measurement and evaluation suggestion and correction will be made on suggestion and corrections will be made on some of the items, which would be used to fine tune the final outcome of the draft questionnaire.
Reliability refers to the degree of consistency of scores obtained by the same person when examined with same test on different occasions. It is the accuracy, consistency and stability or dependability of measuring instrument or score obtained. In order to determine the reliability of instrument, a test re-test procedure will be applied, therefore, the instrument, a will be administered twice within an interval of two weeks and the scores obtained would be correlated to establish the degree of reliability.
      Procedure for Data Collection
In this research study, copies of questionnaires were personally administered by the researcher to both the teachers and students of the selected senior secondary schools in Ilorin metropolis to ensure effective responses. 00 copies of questionnaire were administered and collected by the researcher from the respondents.
      Data Analysis Techniques
The data gathered for the study were statistically analyzed using Pearson product moment correlation statistics to test hypotheses formulated at 0.005 Issevel of significance
