Preservice Economics Teachers Perception And Attitude Towards The Use Of Computer-based Test For Assessment

The research instrument wasvalidated by the researcher’s supervisor and
three lecturers from the Department of Social Science Education,
University of Ilorin, Nigeria. The face and contents validation of the
instrument was done to ensure that items in the questionnaire are
appropriate and suitable to assess exactly what it is meant for. The
reliability of the instrument was determined by administrating the
instrument on 10 randomly selected pre-service teachers from Social
Studies Education, University of Ilorin. The reliability coefficient of
0.78, 0.75 and 0.65 was determined for the instruments on usefulness,
ease of use and attitude respectively using Cronbach Alpha.
Procedure
for Data Collection The researcher with the help of 3 research
assistant visited the pre-service teachers in their respective location
and seek for their cooperation and sincere participation in the study.
The respondents were not be compelled to respond to the questionnaire.
Also the anonymity of the respondents was maintained and confidentiality
was considered. Thereafter, the researcherdistributed the questionnaire
to them and waits for the return.
Data Analysis Techniques
Theresult
of the administered researcher-designed questionnaire
wassubjectedtodescriptive statistics. The data wascodedandanalyzed
usingStatistical Package forSocialSciences(SPSS)version 20.0 forwindows.
Descriptive statistics percentage was used for demographic table while
mean was used toanswer research questions 1to 3.
