      DISCUSSION,CONCLUSIONSAND RECOMMENDATIONS
      This chapter focuses mainly on discussion of the major findings on this study, conclusions from the findings and recommendations. The discussions focus on the result of the quantitative analysis of the data, presented according to the main and specific purpose of the study.
      Discussion of the Findings
      The main purpose of the study was to determine pre service Economics teachers’ perception and attitude towards the use of computer-based test in University of Ilorin. The findings revealed that pre service Economics teachers’ perceived CBT to be usefulness for assessment in University of Ilorin, pre service Economics teachers’ perceived CBT to be easy to use for assessment in University of Ilorin and the attitude of Pre service Economics teachers’ towards the use of CBT for assessment in University of Ilorin is not positive. This is in support of Fluck, Pullen and Harper (2009);Bertolo and Lambert (2007) who reported that lecturershaveapositiveperceptionofcomputer-basedtest.Theconclusionsoftheresearchersthat the use of computer-based test for assessments will addtothequalityofUniversityeducationinNigeriaasthequalityisbelieved to have been compromised by the number of the universities. The result of this study reveals that teachers in trainingperceivedcomputer-basedtesttobeusefulinNigerianuniversities.Thisfindingissupportedby Bull (1999),Cheong and Park(2005) who reported that computer-based test had the potential to impact institutions with faster quality  and speed of feedback  which  could enhance the capability of  academics to pinpoint progress and learning deficiencies. The report of Chalmers and Mc Ausland (2002)also buttress this finding when they explained that computer-based test ,in the context of pedagogical applications enables lecturers to covera wide range of content, reduced work load especially in the case of double marking, conserve time and resources, and helped identify learning problems by adapting them to match their abilities.Lee(2003)reported that some lecturers perceived CBT notto be useful as their students perform lower in CBT than they would have in a PBT.
      This finding is consistent with some other findings reported in the literature such there port by Linn and Miller (2005) who reported that computer-based testis easy to use as it is not stressful. Similarly, Ricketts and Wilks(2001)also reported hat computer-based testis perceived to be easy to use as it is user friendly and the user friend lines saids its usefulness. Farrell and Leung(2004)reported that the competency level of lecturers increases therateat which they find CBT easy to use. In the same vein, there port by Venkatesh (2000)show stheinter-relationship between usefulness and ease of use of computer-based test produced substantial support for this study. Bugbee (1996) also reported hat the ease of use of computers really affects it suses for test. The result of this study replicates a similar finding in a study on acceptance of e-assessment conducted by Nurcan (2010)and also in conformity with the original TAM study by Davies(1989).
      The result on attitude was reflected in the result by Ayo, Akinyemi, Adebiyi and Ekong(2007) stated that the embrace of Computer Assisted Test is an indication of positive attitude of lecturers and examiners to the use of Computer Assisted Test but not on the part of the student. However, Mitra and Steffensi (2000) concluded that in a situation where students and lecturers don’t have easy as access to computer based knowledge, non-accessibility fosters negative attitude towards the use of Computer Assisted Test.
      Similar result earlier reported by Hong, Ridzuan and kuek (2003) found that a networked learning institution where students have easy access to computers could foster positive attitudes toward the use of computers in teaching and learning. Findings in this study also show that there was no difference in the attitude of both lecturers and students to the use of CAT.
