HYPOTHESIS 4
There is no significant relationship between the parents of truants and non-truants
Degree of freedom = r-1
=1
Critical value of chi-square at 0.05
Level = 3.84
The obtained calculated chi-square value (6.12) is greater than the critical or table value chi-square value (3.84) at 0.05 level. The null hypothesis states that: there is no significant relationship between the parents of truants and non-truants. Therefore we can accept the alternative hypothesis which states that; there is significant relationship between the parents of truants and non-truants.
Conclusion:- Truants whose parents are illiterates will tend to be more negatively affected than those whose parents are literates
