3.5 VALIDITY OF THE INSTRUMENT
An instrument is said to be valid when it measure adequately when it suppose to measure . The questionnaire items are given to another professional teacher of English language to verify, criticize,comment on and judge the validity of the items. The instructions are submitted to the researcher supervisor, a more professional lecturer of English language at higher level who make necessary correction and later approves the instruments.
3.6 RESEARCH PROCEDURE
After the approval of the research tools by the supervisor, the researcher prints the research instrument and seeks permission from the principal of the chosen school to make use of the school for the research.
Some of the teachers of English language assist the teacher in the administration of the research instruments on the students and also seat to help the researcher fill some of the research instruments that concerns them as teachers.
The researcher with the assistance of some teachers serve the questionnaire to the students and wait for them to fill the questionnaires to the best of their knowledge. Each item on the questionnaire is read aloud to the students with explanations where necessary so as to obtain accurate response from the students. The researcher ensures that they understand each item before she progress to the next item.
The questionnaire are well completed by the respondent that is both teachers and students and all are returned because the researcher waits until they are completed and returned.
The questionnaire will help to relate the attitude of both teachers and students in the process of teaching and learning of English language.
3.7 COLLECTION OF DATA
Therefore the researcher conducted the research work using a questionnaire which is self designed. Observation is also used as one of the research tools, as the researcher observes both the teacher and the students.
One hundred questionnaires are given out to both teachers and students, all are filled and returned. They will subsequently be used for analysis
3.8 DATA ANALYSIS
The data collected will be analyzed using simple percentage.
