    • A total of two hundred (200) staff members make up the research sample of the study.
      3.4    Research Instrument
The instrument for this project is basically a draft questionnaire (see appendix). Before the questionnaire was prepared, the researcher had in mind the objectives the questionnaire was expected to accomplish.A total of two hundred
      (200) questionnaire were administered to senior and junior staff of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
Section A of the questionnaire was to collect respondents personal statistics and information.Section B was to collect data on experiences of staff members on the impact of effective management through language communication. The respondents were expected to respond by ticking the alternatives appropriate to their choices.
      3.5    Validation of the Instrument
The researcher decided to leave the questionnaire after it had been constructed for two weeks in order to study it again and correct mistakes that were discovered. The researcher submitted the questionnaire to the project supervisor who carefully examined the instrument and made corrections where necessary. Based on his recommendation and advice, the questionnaire was restructured and reorganized.
The researcher did a pre-testing of the questionnaire with five (5) staff members. The questions were later typed and administered to two hundred (200) members of staff in the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
      3.6    Sources of Data
The required data for this study were got from two (2) major sources: the primary and secondary.   The primary source is basically respondents answers to the questions in the administered questionnaire. The secondary source included the information from several books in the library.
3.7    Procedure for Primary Data Collection
As mentioned earlier, the primary data were obtained by means of critically framed and controlled questionnaire. The researcher gave out the questionnaire to staff members of the Polytechnic. He pleaded with them to complete or fill in their responses so that he collected them immediately. The researcher administered a total of two hundred (200) questionnaire. These were analyzed after collection.
      3.8    Statistical Tool of Analysis
For the sake of convenience and simplicity, the researcher chose the simple percentage as his statistical tool for the data
analysis. This involves finding out the percentage of response to the various questions asked in the questionnaire as illustrated below.

CHAPTER ONE - [ Total Page(s): 2 ]It has been observed also that in the aforementioned Polytechnic, there exists a great gap between the Principal Officers and the other staff members. For example, in the Registry, where we have the Registrar as the Chief Administrative Officer, the next most Senior Administrative Staff happens to be a Senior Assistant Registrar, (no Principal Assistant Registrar, no Deputy Registrar in between). The above situations already described, usually result in conflicts and even hinder individual job pe ...
