RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.1 Description of the Study Area
Kaura Local Government come into existence on 1st day of December 1990 when it was carved out of the old Jema’a Local Government Area by the Late General Sanni Abacha led military administration. The local government covers about 1167 square kilometre with about 64 towns and communities which was later divided into three chiefdoms. The chiefdoms are Maro’a Atakar and Kagoro with a population projection of 290784 by the National Commission census. The Kaura Local Government Area occupies the southern central part of Kaduna State and they observe their cultural festivals.
Population Settings
Kaura Local Government area is located in Southern Kaduna senatorial district. It is made up of the executive and legislative arm constituting of elected counsellors of 10 wards of the council area.
Historical Background
The community is predominantly Kagoro, Maro’a, Kataf, Bajyu speaking people. Many people especially youth are now in educational field and government offices.
Social Event
The people of Kaura have three social event firstly. The Afan festival observed by the Gworok community every 1st January of each year is a national festival where they display their rich cultural heritage like Gugwa, Kodai, Jarawa dancers, Kurusak and Zunzuk dancers and different traditional drummers display their gift of drumming.
Secondly, the Maro’a people or chiefdom also celebrate their cultural day every first Saturday of every January they also displays their cultural heritage and traditional displays are done.
Lastly, is the Fakat day that is observed at every 15th April of every year they also display and exhibit their cultural.
Health Facilities
There is rural hospital, primary health centre and private clinic and all functional health unit.
Market
There are two different market Kagoro and Manchok.
3.2 The Study Design
In view of the study that required information to be collected from many sources, descriptive survey became useful and imperative. It was therefore employed to facilitate the success of the study.
3.3 Study Population
All the health workers in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna constituted the population for the study.
3.4 Sample Size Determination
The minimum sample size determination used in the study area is 290784 and the formula is used on population more than 1000.
