A. Respondents demographic information.
B. Cause of urinary tract infection.
C. Effects of urinary tract infection and,
D. Prevention of urinary tract infection.
There are four different alternative responses to each statement i.e. strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Strongly Disagree (SD) and Disagree (D) and the respondents were expected to trick the most appropriate one.
3.7 Validity of the Instrument
Copies of draft questionnaire were given to the project supervisor and other lecturers to assess the worthiness of the items. At the end of the exercise, some items were modified, reframed or dropped. In brief, the comments, observations and corrections were incorporated into the final copy.
3.8 Pre-test
A pilot study was carried in a Zango Kataf Local Government Area using 10% of the sample population are 31. The exercise afforded the researcher the opportunity to adequately prepare for the study in view of some of the challenges encountered during the pilot.
3.9 Procedures for Data Collection
In order to facilitate the exercise and also promote effective coordination, five research assistants were hired. The research assistants were adequately educated on data collection process and the need to assure respondents of confidentiality. Each research assistant administered a minimum of fifty copies of questionnaire depending on the vastness of the allocated zones, and the exercise lasted two weeks.
3.10 Method of Data Analysis
Responses were collected and sorted out, and SPSS application was used in the analysis of data.
3.11 Ethical Consideration
A letter of authority from the school was obtained and presented to the chairman of Kaura Local Government Area for permission to undertake a study in the council. The researcher was directed to the head of health department who later provided necessary logistics for the exercise.
In the same view, the sample health workers consents on their readiness to participate were sought before given questionnaire to fill.
