The temperature of the mice as the experiment progressed showed that the infection of the mice caused a reduction in the temperature of the mice. Most of the mice had an average temperature of 36.8±1.22°C before the commencement of the experiment. However, as the experiment proceeds, there was decrease in their body temperature. The group that was infected and treated with placebo (negative control) had a temperature as low as 34.2±0.20°C. It was observed that higher concentration (400mg/ml) of the aqueous mushroom extract caused an increase in temperature from 36.6±0.90°C to 36.8±0.04°C; about 0.5% increase. Other concentrations brought about a reduction in the temperature of the mice (Table 3).
