    • In Table 5 below the same question is answered by the respondents but this time it has do with awareness of the term ‘Estate Management’. The Table shows 28 (8.48%) are not at all aware of the term ‘Estate Management’, 95 (28.79%) are slightly aware, 70 (21.21%) are moderately aware, 122 (36.97%) are moderately aware and 15 (4.55%) are extremely aware of the term ‘Estate Management’.

      In Table 6 below 329 (99.69%) are positive that increasing public awareness will improve the society’s view of the profession. Whereas a meagre 1 (0.30%) do not think so.

      From the above findings, it is clear that increasing public awareness will go a long way in educating the citizenry, In other words effectively changing the negative perception that has trailed this profession for too long.

      4.3.2 RESPONDENTS VIEW ON SERVICES OFFERED BY AN ESTATE SURVEYOR AND VALUER

      In table 7 below, 140 (42.42%) didn’t attempt questionnaire whereas 30 (9.09%) answered incorrectly and the remaining 160 (48.48%) answered at least one correctly

      From the above findings a majority of Awka citizenry do not know the services offered by an Estate Surveyor and Valuer.

       4.3.3 RESPONDENTS VIEW ON THE PROFESSION CHARGED WITH PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

      In table 8 below 195 (59%) of the respondents would choose a lawyer over an Estate Surveyor and Valuer who is professionally trained as a property manager. The remaining 135 (41%) would prefer the services of an Estate Surveyor and Valuer to a lawyer.

      From the above findings the majority of the citizenry of Awka have a wrong perception of Estate Management as regards property management.

      4.3.4 RESPONDENTS VIEW ON CHOICE OF WHO TO CONSULT IN ORDER TO SELL PROPERTY

      In table 9 below 220 (66.66%) of the respondents would choose a local sales agent over an Estate Surveyor and Valuer who is professionally trained as an appraiser. The remaining 110 (33.33%) would prefer the services of an Estate Surveyor and Valuer to a local sales agent.

      From the above findings the majority of the citizenry of Awka have a wrong perception of Estate Management as regards sale of properties.

      4.3.5 RESPONDENTS PROFESSIONAL ORIENTATION TOWARDS ESTATE MANAGEMENT PROFESSION

      In table 10 below 40 (12.12%) of respondents have a very good orientation towards Estate Management, 120 (36.36%) have good professional orientation towards Estate Management, 125 (37.87%) are acceptable, 40 (12.12%), 5 (1.52%) have poor and very poor professional orientation respectively towards Estate Management.

      From the above findings, it is clear that the professional orientation of Awka citizens to profession of Estate Management is above average.
