    • As a contributory effort of the government towards the eradication of child trafficking in the country, a governmental organization named National Agency for prohibition in Trafficking in person (NAPTIP) has been formed to educate the general public and it is set to punish the offenders as this organization which is an anti-trafficking one has since inception has being arresting offenders and suspects. However, government should have the love for the young ones at heart by positively relating with them. For instance, by making adequate provision for all of them to be fully engaged either through self employment effort with government assistance or to be employed by the government to various units of which these people could relevant and useful for the success of the country and economic growth.
The battle to reduce and eliminate trafficking in persons is an on-going process. Even hands must be on desk to adequately combat this organized crime. If we are apathetic about of me may lose the future. Trafficked children, women and men cannot make Nigeria great.
Summary of the Review Related Literature
In this chapter, it was reviews that children trafficking started in the late 90s when there was a sudden realization that world was gradually coming into ominous hands of slave dealers euphemistically called traffickers. And the practice came to public awareness in Nigeria in the early 2000 through the instrumentality of some NGOs particularly women trafficking and child Eradications Foundation (WOTCLEF) who pioneered the campaign against trafficking in persons. The chapter also defines child trafficking as the act of moving children from one country to another for prostitution and other forms of several exploitation purpose.
The chapter showed the prevalence of child trafficking for instance, about 8 million Nigeria children are engaged in exploitation child labour, putting them at great risk of human trafficking and estimated percentage were given like 80% of a children trafficked to Italy are from Africa and 60% of them are Nigerians. The various types of trafficking were also highlighted and discussed, who are trafficked and loves of exploitation of the trafficked children were also fully dealt with.
Causes of child trafficking were traced to economic dependency of children, inability of those children (girls) to be satisfied sexually, broken homes and parents hostility, encouragement from pimps, unemployment, underemployment and so on.
The consequences were also looked into, to include contacting such venereal diseases as gonorrhea, syphilis craw, scabies, AIDs and untimely death through the forced labour engage by the children.
The theories of child trafficking shows that the humanists view children who engaged in child trafficking as trying to enhance themselves as to become self actualized. As they believe that human being suppose to be free in a free world. Whereas the psychoanalytic like Freud sees those children who engages in child trafficking as being fixated at their phallic stage of their psychosexual development. On the other hand, the behaviourist believes that all behaviourist are learnt. As such those who get involve in child trafficking leant engage hut and could still unlearnt the habit if they so wish.
Solving the problem of child trafficking in the following points were mentioned by the researcher as been vital. That the parents have a lot to do bring the lost glory back to this great nation to restore children dignity and that government provision of jobs from the unemployed, hundred rehabilitation and re-orientation of those that are already involved adequate information and awareness to this. Also trying in their various was to prevent trafficking in children and women and assist trafficked person to re-establish health and normal lives through co-ordination of direct services and modern day slave trade that is eating up the dignity of children and of the country at large.
In order for counsellors, parents, children, NOGs, government and the entire society to understand the causes and consequences of child trafficking, it is believed that studies on this matter should be conducted. It was discovered that research work has not been thoroughly conducted in this area (causes and consequences of child trafficking) and the groups that are easy to fall into the prey of the traffickers so that enough vigilant and attention will be required of the parents, schools counsellors, the society and the entire nation at large. It is for this reason that researcher is convinced that the study into the various causes and consequences of child trafficking as perceived by adults in Ilorin metropolis is necessary.
