Hypothesis Testing
Four hypothesis stated in this study were tested using t-test and the Analysis Variance (ANOVA) statistical methods. All hypothesis were tested at 0.05 level of significance.
Hypothesis One
There is no significant different between the perception of male and female primary school teacher on the needs for guidance and counselling services in primary school.
Table 5 indicates a calculated t-value of 0.75 and a critical t-value of 1.96. Since the calculated t-value is less than the critical t-value hypothesis one which states that there is no significant difference between the perception of male and female respondents on the need for guidance and counselling services in primary schools is accepted.
Hypothesis Two
There is no significant difference among the primary school teachers in their perception of the needs for guidance and counselling service for primary school based on their educational qualifications.
Table 6 indicates a calculated t-value of 1.91 which is less than the critical t-value of 1.96. Since the calculated t-value is less than critical –value hypothesis two which states that there is no significance difference among the respondents in their perception of the need for guidance and counselling service in primary schools based on educational qualification is accepted.
