      RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
      Preamble
This chapter basically presents the procedure employed in carrying out the research. It describes the research design, population sample and sampling techniques, instrumentation, description of the instrument, validation of the instrument, and reliability of the instrument, procedure for data collection and data analysis technique. Invariability, it contains the procedure for carrying out the study.
      Research Design
The study was designed to find out factors responsible for sexual abuse as expressed by students of Federal College of Education, Ogun State. However, the descriptive method is the research design employed for this study. The method was appropriate for the study because it allowed the researcher to select representative sample of the entire population.
According to Durosaro (1985), descriptive survey research involves collecting data in order to test hypotheses or answer questions concerning the current status of the subject of the study. Osuala (1987) also opined that the descriptive survey method enables the researcher to obtain the opinion of the representative sample of the target in order to be able to infer the perception of the entire population.
Survey research typically employs questionnaires and interviews in order to determine opinion, attitudes, preferences, perception, interest, or expression of the respondents. The descriptive survey method was considered appropriate for this study because the researcher investigated factors responsible for sexual abuse as expressed by students of federal College of Education, Ogun State.
      Population Sample and Sampling Techniques
The target population of the study was students of College of Education, Ogun State. However, since the whole under graduate students cannot participate in the study the researcher then selected a representative sample for the target population. To get the sample for the study, the researcher randomly selected 200 respondents across the various departments in the school. Daramola (1995) define random sampling as the selected of a group which permits fair representation of the entire target population. He defined sampling t5echnique as a systematic process employed to select a required proportion of a target population. Simple random sampling was used to enable the researcher have a reasonable number of participants to work with.
      Instrumentation
The instrument used for the collection of the data was developed by the researcher. The questionnaire was tagged “Factors Responsible for Sexual Abuse Questionnaire (FRSAQ)”. Daramola (1991) stated that questionnaire is a series of relevant questions which is usually used to elicit information from respondents who are normally drawn from the target population of a given study. There are 20 item altogether on the instrument and it has two sections (A and B). Section A contained the demographic data which requires respondents to give their personal information such as, sex, age, religion and study level. Section B sought to elicit information about the expression of the students on the possible factors that are responsible for sexual abuse. This section consists of 20 items and it was sub-divided under different categories such as; emotional factors, peer group factors, revenge/punishment factors and indecent dressing factors.
The respondents were to tick (√) the appropriate item as it applied to them. Also Likert Rating Scale of four (4) point choice was also employed. The scoring is as follows:
Strong Agree        (SA)     =     4 Points
      Agree                (A)    =    3 Points
      Disagree            (D)    =    2 Points
Strongly Disagree    (SD)    =     1 Points
The respondents were required to choose any of the four points for each item depending on what they feel about the item of the questionnaire.

CHAPTER ONE - [ Total Page(s): 4 ]The present research therefore was interested in finding out the factors that are responsible for the act of sexual abuse. This study becomes imperative because. To the best of the researcher’s knowledge, no previous study has considered the issue, especially in relation to students of Federal College of Education, Ogun State.Research Questions    This research work intends to investigate the factors responsible for sexual abuse as expressed by students of Federal College of Education, ... This could include being subjected to unwanted sexual remarks, pict ... Continue reading---

CHAPTER FOUR - [ Total Page(s): 8 ]Hypotheses Two: There is no significant difference in the expression of the factors responsible for sexual abuse among students who are Christians and their Muslims counterparts. The result of table 8 indicates that the calculated t-value of 0.72 is less than the critical t-value of 1.90. Therefore, hypothesis two which stated that “there is no significant difference in the expression of the factors responsible for sexual abuse among students who are Christians and their Muslim counter par ...
