      Theoretical Framework
Human relation is an essential role played by the school management through student support services to the students. The school management should adopt the principles of human relations propounded by theorist such as Mary Parker Follet, Barnard, Elton Mayor by showing concern for the respect and dignity of the students, being kind, open, sincere, just and relating very well to the students through provision of guidance and counselling services, provision of curriculum activities and so on.
Then, must be of good conduct of the behaviours of students by stipulating the norms in which the students operate. There should be no special treatment irrespective of the socio-economic background of the student. Students must be given the right to involve in decision making affecting them which is done through Student Union Government (SUG).
Also, Max Weber’s bureaucratic principles had been adopted by College of Education Ikere-Ekiti (student code of conduct) with the stipulated rules and regulations which are to guide the students’ behaviours in the institution, proper records of students, attainment of a good pass grade mark with the help of various student support services rendered by the College.
      Meaning of Student Support Services:
Student Support Services: Adeboyeje (1992) defined student support services as the service concerned with the institutional and non-institutional criteria services needed by the students to enable them embrace the best form of academic performances. Thus, student support services embrace those administrative and supervisory function and services other than classroom instructions that are concerned with the identification, admission, classification of student, as well as those services which are adequately provided to enhance physical, mental and emotional growth of the students. In the administration of higher institutions, student support services are an integral part but quite distinctive from instructional aspect and very important to the effective and efficient functioning of the institution. It is a recent innovation in the administration of higher institution. The student support services have direct bearing on the smooth running of the institution. Student support services can be said to be those services provided by the institution to enhance effective learning process among the students.
Bassey (2001) observed that, hostel accommodation has not been receiving adequate attention in Nigeria. Although, it is important component of students support management. This might be due to the national indifference arising from people being used to general poor performance of social services. In addition to Bassey’s submission, Olotuah (2000) in a study of the sub-urban housing project in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria; indicated that in-spite of the evidence of poor housing conditions in some areas of that capital city, residents did not complain because of their low expectations with respect to public social services.Bassey (2007) asserted that, housing being one of the basic human need is an aspect of economics development and therefore of topical interest to all sectors of the societies. Although it is regarded as an aspect of students support management in education and thus not directly in the primary assignment of educational administrations with respect to instruction. It is basically true that academic performance must necessarily be influenced by the quality and quantity of the resident accommodation that can be providedin the learning environment of the students.
