    • Summary of the Review of Related Literature
          In summary of the reviewed literature, drug abuse has been said as a use of a drug in a way that is not accordance with the accordance with the recommended medical use of drug. The drugs are especially those that affect the brain and mind by depressing, stimulating or disorganizing it.
          Such drugs are usually referred to as hard drug (e.g cocaine, marijuana and heroin) other are used commonly by many people (e.g. coffee, kolanuts aspirin and alcohol) Akinade, 2005.
          Osu, 1991 revealed that the major factors responsible for use of drug among under graduate females students are: -
      -    Ignorance
      -    Idleness
      -    Curiosity
      -    Spirit of rebellion against the system and the family socio-economic background. 
      Their effects are wakefulness lateness, constriction of blood vessels, acting on the central nervous system, tension, anxiety e.t.c.
      The dangers involve in use of drugs are addiction, physical dependence, psychological dependency, death occurs with intentional and unintentional overdose, self-neglect, blackouts, irritationality, mood swing, slurred speech poor motor coordination and psychosis etc.
      In curbing the use of drug and other violent crime in our society the school should give practical drug education. Drug use or abuse could be controlled by internal agency such as World Health organization, National, State and Local Governments. Seminars, workshops, discussion involving children, youths, parents’ organization by National State Local Government and Health Agencies were other approach to controlling drug abuse and misuse.
